In Memoriam: Gene Martin
Over the holidays, our dear friend Gene Martin, a renowned photographer of jazz and rock legends, passed away from an aneurism. Gene has been a WPPI speaker and was to give a two-part MasterClass on location lighting at WPPI 2007. In recent years, Gene befriended guitar guru Les Paul and was commissioned by Gibson to photograph many of the great guitarists who played Les Paul guitars over the years. His work has appeared in Time, Newsweek, Entertainment Weekly, New York Magazine, People, US and U.S. News & World Report. Gene was personable, extremely likeable and well versed in a great many subjects. He will be sorely missed by his WPPI family.
