INDUSTRY NEWS
This Month in Rangefinder
The art of portraiture has always been as cutting-edge as it is timeless. This month we highlight the portrait and its ability to inspire and inform. From Winifred Whitfield's "Intimate Details"—bringing an alluring sensuality to traditional women's portraiture—to rescue diver turned photographer Christopher Razoyk's daring portraits, to Brian Smith's documenting the faces of American tastemakers and iconoclasts alike, we are highlighting some of the most dynamic photographers in this field. Even specific projects like Brendan Moore's work with a Native American skateboard team, Jacquelyn Buck's "Empowering Women" project, and Jerry Avenaim's shoot with Oscar winner Jeff Bridges show us that the true power of portraiture lies in striking that delicate balance between the photographer and the subject.
